We are committed to an industrial project capable of providing sustainable growth in the long term and, to achieve this, we promote innovation and sustainability projects. In 2011 alone, nearly 140 million euros were allocated to 150 R&D projects in fields such as smart grids or offshore wind power, thus becoming the most innovative Spanish utility and the forth in Europe.
Moreover, IBERDROLA’s sound, profitable and value-creating strategy based on eco-efficiency promotes responsible use of energy and encourages the use of renewable energy sources, which reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. The Company’s goal is to reduce these emissions by at least 30% by the year 2020 compared to 2007.
