06/05/2011 IBERDROLA, AMONG THE TOP 25 SPANISH COMPANIES IN THE RUNNING FOR THE EUROPEAN BUSINESS AWARDS
ORGANISED BY HSBC, THE PRIZE-GIVING CEREMONY WILL TAKE PLACE IN BARCELONA IN NOVEMBER

IBERDROLA is one of the 25 Spanish companies pre-selected by HSBC for the European Business Awards to be held in Barcelona in November with the goal of recognising companies with the best records in sustainability, excellence and innovation in business development.

For IBERDROLA, this prequalification ratifies its leadership in the energy sector, as these awards are only given to high-profile European businesses with the best growth prospects. The European Business Awards are awarded to companies which combine commitment to innovation with successful earnings growth, without foregoing their corporate citizenship.

According to Adrian Tripp, CEO of these HSBC awards, although there has been growing interest among candidates for this prestigious award in the last five years, not all European groups qualify for consideration.

Meanwhile, John Casey, head of European commercial banking at HSBC, said that the European Business Awards are the perfect opportunity to acknowledge the best businesses and their achievements. Casey underscored that the companies pre-selected have all shown a tremendous ability to prosper despite the trialling economic times.
